About Us

Welcome to East Health Trust, a Primary Health Organisation (PHO). PHOs are funded by Health NZ to support the provision of essential primary health care services, mostly through general practices, to those people who are enrolled with the PHO in the Howick, East Tamaki & Franklin areas.

 

East Health Trusts' aim is to support services to maintain or improve the health of the enrolled PHO population.

East Health Trust was established as a PHO on 1 July 2003 and covers Howick, Botany, Pakuranga, Beachlands, Clevedon, Flat Bush, Maraetai, Kawakawa Bay and Pukekohe areas. 

 

Our enrolled population is approximately 122,000. 

Mission Statement

East Health Trust Primary Healthcare Organisation for its enrolled and potential population and community will:  

 

  • Ensure that everyone is treated with respect and dignity, their culture is valued and the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi are recognised. 

   

  • Endeavour to improve health equity.
     

  • Empower personal and community health & well-being by promoting quality information, facilitating innovative programmes and endorsing healthy lifestyle choices.

 

  • Ensure the provision of quality preventative and interventional medical care.

 

  • Enhance the skills and knowledge of personnel and providers.

East Health strives continually to deliver high quality healthcare based on core strategic initiatives, to:

 

  • Improve health and wellbeing especially for those with the greatest health needs

 

  • Provide a collaborative coordinated response to community healthcare

 

  • Commit to continuously improve quality services

 

  • Promote leadership and innovation

 

  • Develop and support the primary care workforce

 

  • Secure viability and sustainability of health initiatives
